Mercedes has dropped the first look at its all-electric C-Class, revealed in teaser form at the Munich Motor Show. It’s the brand’s most important EV yet, blending familiar proportions with bold design details and a headline range of nearly 500 miles.
Unlike the spaceship styling that defined early EQ models, this one keeps the traditional C-Class silhouette. The drama comes at the front, where four illuminated slats frame a glowing star badge. It’s futuristic, divisive, and designed to turn heads after dark.

Underpinning the car is Mercedes’ new MB.EA platform with 800-volt architecture, capable of charging up to 330 kW. A 94 kWh battery provides the range claim, putting it ahead of most rivals in the mid-size luxury sedan segment. Expect both rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor AWD setups with outputs nudging 480 horsepower.
Inside, Mercedes will either fit its vast Hyperscreen or the more restrained Superscreen with three digital displays. Either way, this C-Class is designed to carry as much tech credibility as it does badge prestige.
The decision to electrify the C-Class matters. This model has always been the brand’s anchor, selling in huge volumes globally and defining the entry point into Mercedes luxury. Making it electric is a gamble, but one that could secure the brand’s place in a market where BMW, Audi, and even Tesla are fighting for the same territory.
Why We Care About This
The C-Class is more than just another sedan. For decades it’s been the car that puts buyers on the Mercedes ladder, balancing luxury with everyday usability. By giving it 500 miles of range, a lightning-fast charging system, and a front end that glows like a high-end nightclub, Mercedes is proving it doesn’t just want to keep up in the EV race — it wants to set the tone. For DMARGE readers, that means one of the world’s most recognisable luxury badges is going electric without losing its swagger.
