Daniel Ricciardo’s taste in cars has always veered toward the extreme, and his Aston Martin Valkyrie is no exception.
Commissioned through Aston Martin’s Q division, chassis 089 is a 1,160-horsepower hypercar shaped by Adrian Newey, finished in bespoke Dichroic Dawn “Badger Blue” paint, and personalised down to the Alcantara stitching.
Ricciardo first encountered the project back in 2016 while driving for Red Bull Racing, when the Valkyrie was still a prototype codenamed “Nebula.”
The Honey Badger was captivated by the idea of a Cosworth-built V12 paired with hybrid KERS technology in a road-legal car that behaved almost exactly like his Formula 1 machinery.
“It feels like a race car and it looks like a race car,” Ricciardo later said. “I’m not used to having a roof over my head, but that’s the only thing that really feels different. Otherwise, it’s a pretty straight-up race car.”
Production of the Valkyrie ended in December 2024, making this 2023 example one of the very last. Just 150 were built, and Ricciardo’s version is among the most heavily optioned. Magnesium wheels, carbon-fibre “clam veins,” exposed suspension shrouds, Alcantara-wrapped carbon seats, and silver-anodised toggles pushed the bespoke bill over £141,500.
Despite having the car for more than a year, Ricciardo barely drove it, clocking just 160 kilometres, leaving it virtually delivery-fresh.
For collectors, that makes it one of the most desirable Valkyries in existence, combining motorsport provenance, rarity, and condition. Ricciardo himself has called it “the pinnacle of road legal technology.”
Broad Arrow will offer the car on 10 October 2025 at the inaugural Zoute Concours Auction in Belgium, held during Zoute Grand Prix Car Week at Approach Golf in Knokke-Heist. Estimates sit between €2.4 million and €2.8 million (~5 million AUD), although its provenance may push bidding far higher.
Around 70 collectible cars will feature at the sale, but this Valkyrie is expected to headline.
