Daniel Ricciardo has decided to part ways with one of the crown jewels of his garage. The former F1 star is putting his Aston Martin Valkyrie up for sale, a hypercar so rare that only 150 road-legal examples were ever built.
His car, chassis number 089, has barely been touched.
With just 160 kilometres on the odometer, it has spent its life in Ricciardo’s private collection, meticulously maintained and presented in pristine condition. For collectors, it represents a near-perfect specimen of Adrian Newey’s Formula One-inspired masterpiece.
The Valkyrie’s origins trace back to Aston Martin’s audacious partnership with Red Bull Advanced Technologies.
Built around a carbon-fibre monocoque weighing only 1,270 kilograms, it packs a Cosworth-developed 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 mated to a hybrid KERS system. Combined output is 1,160 horsepower, giving the car a power-to-weight ratio few road cars can dream of.
Ricciardo’s build was handled by Aston Martin Monaco and personalised through the Q bespoke division.
The finish is Dichroic Dawn, a striking blue-shifting paint Ricciardo nicknamed “Badger Blue” in homage to his Honey Badger persona. Details like Magnesium Performance Wheels, gloss carbon panels, and Alcantara bucket seats complete a specification that added more than £140,000 in options.
The car has also benefited from Aston Martin’s 24-month service program and comes with warranty coverage through 2027, alongside extended scheduled support until 2029. For a Valkyrie, where maintenance packages are almost as rare as the cars themselves, this adds significant appeal.
Ricciardo’s decision to sell comes as he continues to reshape life after Formula 1. The eight-time Grand Prix winner made a name for himself with fearless overtakes and infectious charisma, and now one of his most personal machines is set to move into the hands of a new custodian.
